I recently visited San Francisco for the weekend and had such an amazing time! The last time I visited I was about 10 years old and I went with Girl Scouts to cross the Golden Gate Bridge (I know... a very long time ago). If you live in Los Angeles, it's about a 6 1/2 hour car ride or a 45 minute flight, which isn't bad at all. It's a great place to getaway for the weekend. You can either stay in the city and/or take a trip to Napa Valley and go wine tasting. I went with a friend from work and we were very lucky to be able to stay with her aunt and uncle (Kinda made it feel like we actually lived there).

We visited for three days and since San Fran is small you can be easily fooled and think you can see everything in a couple of days, but there are so many amazing neighborhoods and you want to be able to spend time in each one and not just walk through them.

On our first day we went to Crissy Field to see the Golden Gate Bridge, it's so touristy but you have to see the bridge when you visit and this is a great view of the bridge. After we explored Union street and we ate at this cute, tropical themed restaurant, Palm House. They have the cutest cocktails!!! I LOVE pina calada's and they serve theirs in a coconut!!
We also went to Lombard street. When I came with girl scouts I drove through the street, this time we walked it.... it's very steep and after walking up the hill to get there, then down the street, and back up... I never want to go there again. After this we were exhausted and ready to go home. Since it was Memorial Day weekend, my friends aunt and uncle were inviting some friends over for a BBQ. Her aunt is vegan so she made us the BEST Chili Cheese hot dogs, potato salad, caesar salad and she even made vegan Ice Cream... Everything was Vegan... I was in heaven!! I'm pescatarian but I try not to eat diary as much as I can and I hate making it difficult for other people, so to have someone that eats like I do was great. and of course we drank a lot of wine!!!

On our next day we took the Bart (subway system), the trolley and the bus to get to Fisherman's Wharf. We stopped by a small cafe on the pier and had clam chowder... you can't visit without having it. It was pretty cold, so we left and went to Ghirardelli Square. We went to Buena Vista (they are known for the best Irish coffee) you can take it Togo, but I would drink it there. They give you a cup of coffee and a small bottle of Whiskey and you have to make it yourself outside... we looked so sketchy making it and we didn't know how much whiskey to put in it, so it tasted like straight whiskey.

We went to the painted ladies (famous Victorian houses across from Alamo Square) and the Mosaic steps. It was nice to sit on the grass and relax. So many people were having picnics and flying kites.. I wish we had more clean parks in LA to do this. The Mosaic steps are located on 16th Avenue. They are beautiful!! It's better to go earlier in the day before it gets crowded with people. And it's a really good workout.. this was unintentional. After walking to the top and then back down to catch our uber, our driver went to the top of the stairs, so we had to run back up.... not fun. We went to the Castro district after and since it was Happy hour we decided to bar hop... there are so many amazing bars!! We wanted to go into all of them.. but it wouldn't have ended up good ;)

On our last day we went to The De Young, at the very top you get a beautiful 360 degree panoramic view of San Francisco and bonus, it's Free!

We definitely had an amazing trip!! We ate a lot of great food, drank a lot of good wine, and had so much fun exploring the city.
